The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.

SASSA will be rendering services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency stated it is alarmed regarding the higher quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a higher range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due SRD to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office focused on service the area regularly. The provider stage designed for intervention ordeals a substantial inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it hard with the Workplace to attend sassa to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to permit the servicing of all clients and increase usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.

For more information, community members can call toll free during working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 and SRD WhatsApp on 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
